Learn Something About Me

Greetings, Wildcats! I began my secondary education career as an English instructor in 2006, and then started my post-secondary career as an adjunct professor in 2011. I proudly hold a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Secondary Education from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.

This year, I am excited to continue teaching the following Dual Enrollment courses:

ENC1101 College Composition I

ENC1102 College Composition II

LIT1000 Introduction to Literature

LIT1200 Current Interest Themes in Literature

My main objective each year is to help students sharpen their critical reading and writing skills, as well as their time-management and preparedness skills, in preparation for the world of post-secondary education. I also try to inspire them to explore who they are and who they want to become. I want them to question their world and dare to "disturb the universe" as T.S. Eliot implores of us all. I wish for them each to fully embrace the autonomy that comes with dual enrollment courses, and learn more about how they can set themselves up for success. That being said, I'm looking forward to a fantastic year of great literature, meaningful discussion, challenging assignments, and opportunities for personal and academic growth!
