Learn Something About Me

Greetings, Wildcats! I have been an English instructor since 2006, and I've also been an adjunct professor since 2011. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.

This year, I am excited to continue teaching the following Dual Enrollment courses: ENC1101 College Composition I and II, LIT1000 Introduction to Literature, and LIT1200 Current Interest Themes in Literature.

My main objective each year is to help students sharpen their critical reading and writing skills, as well as their time-management and preparedness skills, in preparation for the world of post-secondary education. I also try to inspire them to explore who they are and who they want to become. I want them to question their world and dare to "disturb the universe" as T.S. Eliot implores of us. I wish for them each to fully embrace the autonomy that comes with dual enrollment courses, and learn more about how they can set themselves up for success. That being said, I'm looking forward to a fantastic year of great literature, meaningful discussion, challenging writing assignments, and opportunities for personal and academic growth!
