Learn Something About Me

Hello Wildcats, and welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  This is my fourth year at McKeel and my eleventh year working in education.  I earned my dual B.A. from Florida Southern College in 2007 in English: Creative Writing & British Literature and Secondary Education, and I earned my Master's in Ed. Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in Spring 2016.  I am an avid reader and writer, and my goal is to help my students find their love of words!

My husband and I have a four-year-old daughter and a small herd of fuzzy creatures that we come home to every night.  My hobbies include baking, photography, reading, traveling, DIY crafting & home improvement, drawing, gaming, all things Disney, spending time with my family, and hiking.  I am very excited to be teaching 9th grade English this year!

I am a huge advocate for reading--be prepared to analyze everything and anything!  This class focuses on writing, analysis, and creative thinking.  Email is the quickest way to reach me, and I am always happy to have a discussion with you and your family regarding our class. I look forward to working with you throughout the year!

Please check out our class Canvas page for homework, announcements, syllabi, and general information.

Here's to a great year full of fun, exploration, and learning!
