Learn Something About Me

Hello Wildcats, and welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  This is my fifth year at McKeel and my twelfth year working in education.  I earned my dual B.A. from Florida Southern College in 2007 in English: Creative Writing & British Literature and Secondary Education, and I earned my Master's in Ed. Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in Spring 2016.  I am an avid reader and writer, and my goal is to help my students find their love of words!

My husband and I have a five-year-old daughter, a baby boy on the way in late September, and a small herd of fuzzy creatures that we come home to every night.  My hobbies include baking, photography, reading, traveling, quilting, home improvement, drawing, gaming, all things Disney, spending time with my family, and hiking.

I am very excited to be teaching 9th grade English this year, and we have so many fascinating subjects to cover!  This class focuses on writing, analysis, and creative thinking.  Email is the quickest way to reach me, and I am always happy to have a discussion with you and your family regarding our class. Here's to a great year full of fun, exploration, and learning! I look forward to working with you throughout the year!
