Learn Something About Me

I have worked in the education field for over 25 years. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Florida A&M, I began my teaching career at McKeel Academy in 2002. This year I am thrilled to teach 7th grade Civics.

I am here to assist you and your parent/guardian through this exciting academic year.  Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.  I will always answer emails within 24 hours.

On a personal note - My husband, Robert and I have been married for 29 years, have four wonderful children, and five beautiful grandchildren, along with one dog.  I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, and watching HGTV and thinking up new projects to work on.

Here's to a great year full of fun, exploration, and learning!

Tutoring / Make-ups / ReTakes Requirements and Schedule:

Students must email me from their McKeel email with a request for a specific date and time to come to my classroom before school.  I then check my calendar for my availability. My reply is their pass and must be shown at the school entrance.  I require at least one tutoring session before a retake can be scheduled.  (This gives students a chance to restudy before retesting.)  If a student was absent and needs to make-up an assessment, they will not need a tutoring session.  I am usually available every morning after 7:40 (except Tuesdays) and every afternoon until 3:15 (except Fridays.)

Class Supplies:
iPad (fully charged), Battery operated charger, headphones/earbuds, agenda, loose leaf paper, pencils, personal pencil sharpener, eraser, blue or black ink pen, red pen, purple pocket folder, and highlighter(s).

Wish List:

  • Clorox Wipes

  • Tissues

  • Dry Erase Markers

  • Ziplock storage bags (all sizes)
