Linda Holt

Social Studies Team

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Linda Holt and I am teaching Constitutional Law Honors, Comprehensive Law Studies, Legal Systems and Concepts, and M/J Legal Studies.  This is my sixth year teaching and my second year teaching at McKeel Academy.  I am a graduate of Florida State University and hold a BA in Religion concentrating on western antiquities (2005), a MA in International Affairs concentrating on human rights (2006), and a MS  in Criminology focusing on international law (2010). I served in the United States Coast Guard at Small Boat Station Jones Beach, Long Island, New York before deciding to become a teacher in 2013.

The Legal Studies Program will provide students with an introductory foundation in the field of law. College-bound students will find numerous higher education opportunities in law, including public administration, political studies, and law school. A huge component of studying the law is reading and writing.  Be prepared to do both.

PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING TO CLASS EVERY DAY: fully charged iPad, pencil or pen, spiral notebook, earbuds/headphones, personal pencil sharpener, and sticky notes.

I look forward to meeting and working with you this school year.

Very Respectfully,

Linda S Holt
