Medical Academy Team
Greetings Wildcats Family!
I am very excited about the 2024-2025 school year! This will be my second year teaching at MAT in the Medical Academy.
I feel truly blessed to combine my passion for both nursing and teaching to help our future generation. I have been a Registered Nurse for 28 years and a classroom teacher for eight years. My experience prior to teaching includes working as a hospital nurse, home health nurse, public health nurse, and school health nurse. Before teaching at McKeel, I taught Health Science Anatomy & Physiology, Health Science Foundations, Medical Administrative Assisting, Nursing Assisting, and college dual enrollment courses in Medical Terminology and U.S. Healthcare Systems with Polk County Schools.
I have the privilege of teaching middle schoolers at McKeel. I teach Orientation to Health Science Professions/Introduction to Health Science Career Pathways (7th grade) and Medical Skills and Services (8th grade).
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Florida State University and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of South Florida.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends and traveling all over the world. I am blessed with a loving and supportive husband, a son who lives in Orlando, twin daughters attending FSU, and a bonus son and daughter.
I look forward to another year working with the students, staff, and families!
