Kasey Rakes

Kasey Rakes is an experienced music educator currently in their 11th year of teaching. Mrs. Rakes holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Florida Southern College and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Transformational Curriculum and Instruction from the same institution, with anticipated completion in May 2026.
Over the course of her career, Mrs. Rakes has taught across various grade levels—spending one year at the elementary level, nine years at the middle school level, and is now in her second year at McKeel Academy of Technology teaching 7th-12th grade. Beyond the classroom, she has contributed to local music programs as an assistant marching band director for several local high schools and has performed professionally in pit orchestras throughout Polk County.
