Welcome to McKeel Academy of Technology!

McKeel Academy of Technology is an exciting place to be, and the 2025–2026 school year promises to be one of growth and purpose as we focus on developing INTEGRITY—one of our core values alongside Community, Excellence, Integrity, and Leadership.

I am truly honored to serve the students, parents, and staff of McKeel Academy of Technology as Principal. This marks the beginning of my seventh year in this role, and I remain inspired each day by the dedication and passion that define our Wildcat community.

After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern University in 1989, I began my career in education with the Polk County School Board. During this time, I became a National Board Certified Teacher and completed my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida. In 2005, I joined the McKeel family as a Language Arts teacher at McKeel Academy of Technology. Four years later, I earned my Educational Leadership certification through USF and spent the next decade as an administrator at South McKeel Academy.

The Schools of McKeel Academy are blessed with exceptional students, families, and staff. Together, we continue to pursue excellence in education while fostering a culture of leadership and integrity among our students.

As a school of technology, McKeel Academy provides 1:1 iPads for all students in grades 7–12, integrating technology across the curriculum to enhance learning and creativity. We are committed to providing a well-rounded education through diverse programs in technology, the arts, Advanced Placement courses, Dual Enrollment opportunities, and more.

Go Wildcats!
