Tiana Stevens

Tiana Stevens

Welcome!

Greetings, Wildcats! My name is Tiana Stevens, and I grew up in south Texas and Lakeland. I have a wonderful family, and I love spending time with them. I have been married for 14 years, and we have six beautiful children whom we adore.

My Education and Professional Background

The 2020-21 school year will be my first at McKeel, but my eleventh year of teaching. I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2001 with a BFA in Theatre, and am certified to teach English Language Arts 6 - 12 with an endorsement to teach English as a Second Language.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that each student brings their unique perspective to the classroom. As an English teacher, I love to provide a safe, welcoming, and enthusiastic environment for my students. In this way they can be challenged to think more critically and creatively; deepen their understanding of themselves and the world; and strengthen their interest and academic skills through rigorous instruction.

What to Expect

This year is guaranteed to bring new experiences, obstacles, and opportunities! Classes this year will be offered both virtually and face-to-face. I know it will take some patience & empathy, a healthy dose of encouragement, and a whole lot of support so that we can succeed together. But we aren't just in it... we are in it to win it! Go Wildcats!
