Leticia Patient
Spanish Team
Bienvenidos/Welcome!
My name is Mrs. Leticia Patient. I am a certified Comprehensible Input educator with over two decades of teaching experience in Polk County Public Schools. I joined McKeel Academy of Technology in 2021, bringing with me a strong background in both world language instruction and adult education. Prior to MAT, I taught Spanish for eight years at Lawton Chiles IB Middle Academy and spent twelve years at Traviss Technical College teaching English Literacy for Career and Technical Education.
Throughout my career, I have contributed to district-level initiatives, including serving on the Spanish Curriculum Mapping Initiative and participating in textbook adoption committees. I am also a co-sponsor of the National Honor Society, where I help guide students in academic achievement, leadership, and service.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mass Media and Communication from the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes in Mexico. I am also a state-certified educator in Florida in:
English for Speakers of Others Languages (ESOL)/(GRADES K-12)
Journalism/(GRADES 6-12)
World Language - Spanish/ (GRADES K-12)
I am confident that the 2025 - 2026 school year will be filled with meaningful learning experiences, growth, and exciting new opportunities. I look forward to the many opportunities we will have to learn, connect, and thrive together.
