Rachel Carlson
Hello! My name is Rachel Carlson and I'm overjoyed to be starting my 2nd year here at MAT. I teach 7th grade language arts. I am from Iowa and have only lived in Florida for 2 years. I graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA in 2002 with my Bachelor's and again in 2015 with my Master's. I have taught for the past 17 years, 11 of which were at the high school level, while the other 6 were at the middle school level.
My husband, Jason, and I relocated to Lakeland when he was hired at Florida Southern College as their men's soccer coach. We do not have any children, but we do have two dogs (Stanley and Dozer) and I have a horse who moved here with us from Iowa who I've had for almost 12 years named Mohawk. In my free time I enjoy horseback riding, reading, going to the beach, cooking, and traveling to new places. Please see my virtual parent night video below.
