Welcome Wildcats,
My name is Angel Long, RN, and this is my first year teaching in the Medical Academy at MAT. The classes I will be teaching are: Health Science A & P, Health Science Foundations, and Allied Health 3. I graduated Winter Haven High School in 1991. Then moved onto Polk Community College, where I earned my AS in Nursing in 1994. My areas of nursing experience include: Emergency Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Oncology, Home Health, and private care. I have cherished each area and every patient that I had during these years. Caring for patients in their time of need, from the beginning of life to the end, is truly a blessing and honor. You are their advocate and we need to care for our patients wholeheartedly. Their life truly, is in your hands!
During the above years, I also taught our 3 children. Through educating them, my desire to teach was sparked. The past 5 years I have taught other students, along with mine, Algebra 1 & 2, Physical Science, A & P, and General Science. Our two oldest have graduated college! Our daughter is married and lives in Delaware with our two beautiful granddaughters. The oldest son has recently married, lives in Winter Haven, and works in IT. Our youngest son is starting his first year, in 10th grade, here at McKeel and is an avid swimmer.
It is my desire to see the spark in each student ignite, by learning more, growing stronger, becoming independent individuals, and transitioning into their path in life!
