Spanish Honor Society

The honor society students are responsible for keeping a certain GPA but they are also suppose to do community service hours that require their use of Spanish or that are related to Spanish speakers, culture etc. Members are suppose to attend meetings and be part of activities that are being done by the SHS. Because it can be demanding, Spanish teachers are asked to recommend. Spanish Honor Society proudly supports Exploration V Museum Hispanic Culture Celebrations.

The Spanish teachers recommend students that display character, dependability, timeliness, work ethic and who show a genuine interest / positive attitude in and towards Spanish and work.

Students that stand out in Spanish classes as students that embody the characteristics mentioned above and would enjoy and desire to take on the extra responsibilities.

We meet once a month Wednesdays at 8:00 a.m.

Sra. Nieto, Administrator

This year 2018-2019 will be...¡Fantástico! I will be teaching Spanish II at the High School (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th).

I am also the Sponsor of Spanish Honor Society (year 2018).

I have a BA in Hispanic Studies from University of Puerto Rico (Mayagüez Campus). I graduated in 1995! I also completed the Teacher's Preparation Program at Polk State Collage in 2010. I am certified as Spanish K-12/ ESOL. I also teach using TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). It's a pretty cool way to teach and actually learn a foreign language.

This is my tenth year living in Florida. I love the Florida life!
