History Guild

What is History Guild

HISTORY GUILD IS... a chapter belonging to the National History Club. Through the National History Club, we are able to offer scholarship opportunities to participants who apply. Students with 2 or more years of active membership and maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA in their Social Studies classes will receive a graduation cord. The National History Club also provides us with access to primary resources and exclusive historical information during the course of the school year.

HISTORY GUILD IS... … an organization that aims to build the reading, research, communication and analytical skills students need to become competent citizens and leaders by inspiring secondary school students to implement and participate in history-related programs in their schools

HISTORY GUILD IS... changing for the 2018-19 school year. We will be looking at books, cemeteries, cultural, and economic changes throughout the State of Florida. Our goal is to possibly end our year by taking a Field Trip to St. Augustine to celebrate their 454th Anniversary.

HISTORY GUILD IS... open to all students in grades 7-12. We will have our first meeting on Tuesday, October 9th in Mrs. Kosier’s Room. We will then meet once a month until the end of the school year.

Ms. Kosier, Administrator

Hello Wildcats!!

This is my 3rd year teaching at McKeel, I previously taught in the Polk County School System for 15 years. My schedule this year includes 9th grade Introduction to Social Science and AP Human Geography.  I look forward to another exciting year as a Wildcat!

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. I majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology.  My hobbies are spending time with my family, traveling, boating, hunting, camping, and antiquing. My husband and I have been married for 8 years; together we have 3 boys ages 22, 21, and 18.

I will continue to take advantage of the technology advancements McKeel has to offer in order to create fun, interactive lessons that will facilitate student directed learning, leading to mastery of the standards.
